Good Art is Talent. Good Design is Skill. Ok, so I’m not DaVinci. And despite falling short of unmeasurable genius, being a Jack (or Jane) of all trades works rather well for me.
I’ve always been a part of small groups where my willingness to learn was a huge asset. Print design is my primary passion. It’s what I spend the most energy practicing and perfecting. Still, I spend a good chunk of time learning web design and development techniques. I’ve project managed, created identities for companies starting on the ground level, painted murals, and photographed weddings. I've written copy for marketing pieces and I’ve designed everything from magazine layouts to environmental graphics. Being adaptable has also allowed me to take on interesting freelance projects that I can call mine from beginning to end. It makes me a more informed designer.

Print design is the ability to execute the fundamentals of art theory and practice with the goal of a communiction solution on a two dimensional plane. Huh? Basically, a good professional design is not as simple as it looks.
Print design requires an understanding of concepts like color separations, grid layout, and master pages.
Style can be acknowledged as a designer’s signature. As every project I approach is unique, my style has to remain consistant while adapting to the targeted audience to ensure a lasting imprint on the minds of the viewer.
One of the more underrated design skills today is typography. Typography is usually the difference between a good designer and an excellent designer.
Fact is, letters come in many different shapes, colors, and forms, and this is what gives graphic design its unique and favorable personality.
Having a clear understanding of web development is more essential than ever in an age where online advertising, and web presence are essential to every marketing campaign. Being fluent in web design and multiple coding languages I am able to see a project from beginning to end and provide continued support and development.
A graphic designer should be lucid about discovering and producing the picture that other people are trying to express with words and desire. The picture may not always be clear at first, but this is where creativity stands out.
As a well-rounded graphic designer, I jump at the chance to take on photography requests as they would be needed to complete a design. I have worked in the areas of product photography, portraits, events and weddings.
